STELMA S.A. proved a valuable collaborator for Italian company TECNIMONT in the construction of the Polypropylene Unit in Thessaloniki, on behalf of HELLENIC PETROLEUM. Besides sandblasting and paint jobs, STELMA assumed electromechanical support works and the whole of the pre commission & commission stage for the unit. 200 skilled technicians worked on this project, using state of the art machineries, in order to comply with the high specifications of the project. The final cost for the construction and operation of this unit exceeded 250 mil. Euro. The construction for the Polypropylene Producing Facility, which is considered one of the most modern in Europe, will supply, besides the Greek industry, the markets of the neighbouring countries with a raw material that has a multitude of applications, some still under research.
