STELMA T.S.A. has been active in the field of Industry since 1980 with great success, completing works that cover the wider industrial sector:
Chemical and Petrochemical Industries
STELMA provided extensive support to the Italian firm TECNIMONT in the construction of the new Polypropylene Plant in Thessaloniki for the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group. In addition to blasting-painting works, STELMA also undertook electromechanical support works and executed the entire pre-commission and commission testing stage. To complete this project, more than 200 specialized technicians were employed with state of the art equipment, in order to meet the strict specifications set by the Client. The total cost for the construction and commissioning of this plant exceeded 250 million Euros. The Polypropylene Production Plant, which is considered one of the most advanced in Europe, supplies not just Greek industries but also those of neighbouring countries with the raw material that has a broad and constantly growing range of applications. Beyond the Greek territory, STELMA also executed fire proofing works and refractory works at the KPPC Aromatic Plant in Kuwait, in 2008-2009 for Tecnimont SpA and Kharafi National KSCP.
Oil Refineries
Our company has undertaken anti-corrosion protection projects at all the major refineries in Greece, such as the Hellenic Refineries of Aspropyrgos (ELDA), the HELLENIC PETROLEUM and EKO SA refineries and facilities in Thessaloniki, and the facilities of AEGEAN OIL, OIL ONE and SHELL. Hundreds of tanks, spheres, pipe networks, steel structures and equipment at the above facilities bear the seal of quality and successful execution by STELMA T.S.A., a fact that secures for the company exclusive multi-year maintenance contracts for these facilities. In addition to the above, in the past STELMA has executed paint restoration works on a large number of offshore platforms, such as the installations in the Port of Prinos in Kavala, a very demanding and labour-intensive project.
Railways – Wagons Painting
STELMA activities in Poland, through its subsidiaries, concern primarily works of sandblasting-painting passenger and cargo railway carriages, and secondarily industrial insulation works. Our knowhow in the field of anti-corrosion carriage protection is widespread throughout the former Eastern Bloc countries (Ukraine, Russia, etc.). In addition to Poland, the company has collaborated for many years with OSE SA – Greek Railways and its subsidiaries (TRAINOSE, EDISY) on the maintenance of railway sections and components.
Various Industrial Facilities
Any type of industrial installation owner that requires demanding maintenance works (painting, insulating, cleaning by dry ice blasting, etc.) is a potential client/associate for STELMA. The company has successfully completed projects in large and small private industries in Greece, such as TITAN SA and AGET HERACLES (cement industries), the Hellenic Sugar Industry – EBZ SA (in Plati – Imathia), SOL (industrial gases), CORINTH PIPEWORKS SA (CPW), ELVIAL (aluminium production), etc.
